TACTUN Participated in IMAT 2025

Detroit, Michigan | October 20–23, 2025  – TACTUN participated in the International Materials Applications & Technologies (IMAT) Conference, organized by ASM International, where leading researchers and engineers discussed innovations shaping the future of material science and engineering.

TACTUN’s Chief Technology Officer, Arev Hambardzumyan, presented her latest research titled “Real-Time Fatigue Crack Growth Monitoring Using High-Precision Control and Data Acquisition Systems.”

In her session, Arev addressed one of the most critical challenges in materials engineering — accurate real-time monitoring of fatigue crack growth in cyclic loading conditions. She compared four widely used crack growth monitoring techniques:
Digital Image Correlation (DIC), Acoustic Emission (AE), Compliance-Based Methods, and Direct Current Potential Drop (DCPD) — evaluating their performance in terms of accuracy, resolution, noise sensitivity, and environmental robustness.

The presentation highlighted how modern data acquisition and high-precision control systems, like those developed at TACTUN, enable real-time multi-sensor fusion and smarter decision-making in structural health monitoring. TACTUN demonstrated how these advanced systems can reduce downtime, prevent catastrophic failures, and extend the lifecycle of critical components in industries such as aerospace, energy, and transportation.

“At TACTUN, we believe precision and intelligence go hand in hand. Our mission is to empower manufacturers with AI-driven control systems that bring scientific accuracy to every mechanical process,” — Arev Hambardzumyan, CTO of TACTUN

The IMAT 2025 conference once again served as a vital hub connecting innovators and practitioners from across the globe — and TACTUN was proud to contribute to the dialogue shaping the future of materials testing and mechanical automation.
